Travel Policy: Update
January 2024 - Travel Policy Changes: In an effort to align our Travel Policy and Travel & Business Expense Reimbursement Policy with our peers and best practices, we have made some revisions. Faculty and staff are no longer required to use the travel portal for their bookings and may do so outside of the portal. If a traveler chooses to book outside of the travel portal, they are required to register their trips (both domestic and foreign) with International SOS (ISOS), the University's trusted Global Assistance Program.
Leisure Travel
January 2024 - New Booking Tool: Leisure hotel rates can now be booked through Deem. Leisure rates are for employees, visitors, family, and friends booking personal rates. To begin using Deem, click on Create a new account and follow the on screen instructions.
Hotel Corporate Rates
January 2024 - Hotel Corporate Rates: Beginning January 1, hotel corporate rates and codes will no longer be visible on the University’s travel website. To access the University’s corporate hotel rates, visit the Travel Portal to complete your reservation through World Travel. Click here for a list of participating hotels.
Air Travel Business Class
January 2024 - Business Class flight duration: Business Class tickets are approved for flights over 5 hours of continuous flight time (excludes layovers and change of plane). Pre-approval before the ticket is purchased is not required.

February 2023 - Loews Coral Gables selects Company of the Month: Loews Coral Gables Hotel has selected the University of Miami as its Company of the Month for February 2023! Support for Travel Bookings Prior to September 30, 2022
November 2022 - Support for Travel Reservations made in September: Travel Inc. will support travel reservations made by University of Miami travlers prior to September 30, 2022. Those who have booked upcoming travel via Travel Inc. will need to contact Travel Inc. for any modifications that need to be made. You must contact Travel Inc., as World Travel will not havea access to those reservations. Read more here.
Travel Portal Maintenance – Tuesday, September 27 through Thursday, September 29
September 2022 - Advisory: Due to planned maintenance, the University of Miami Travel Portal (miami.edu/travelportal) will be unavailable starting Tuesday, September 27 through Thursday, September 29. On Friday, September 30, you may notice the Travel Portal has a new look and feel; however, the portal will maintain the same overall functionality. To book travel today and/or during the maintenance window, please call 1-888-206-6044 or email UMiami@worldtravelinc.com.

American Airlines Extends Unused Ticket Expiration
April 2022 - American Airlines Extends Unused Ticket Expiration: American Airlines has extended the expiration date for qualifying unused business flight tickets to late 2022. Only tickets purchased using the University of Miami Travel Portal will qualify. Click here for details.
