American Airlines and JetBlue Now Offering Airline Credits for Business Tickets Affected by COVID-19 – Submit Your Request by August 30, 2020

American Airlines (AA) and JetBlue are now offering alternative credit options to address business ticket reservations that were canceled/affected due to COVID-19. As part of their initial pandemic support, both airlines offered change waivers for future travel, which were credited to the specific traveler. This, however, could result in a potential loss for departments that booked airline tickets for people that may not need to travel for business in the future.

If you were denied a full refund or received a travel credit from American Airlines and/or JetBlue for a traveler who will not be traveling on behalf of the University within the next year, the Department of Travel Management can assist you with requesting airline credit(s)*. The deadline to submit a request is August 30, 2020.

Submission Instructions:

Please download the airline credit request document(s) (links below), and submit your completed form(s) to the Department of Travel Management at travel@miami.edu no later than August 30:

Thank you.

*Exclusions apply, including:

  • If a University of Miami traveler already has a ticket credit under their name and they will be traveling again before ticket credit expiration date.
  • Tickets that were booked for leisure (non-business) purposes.
