American Airlines and JetBlue Now Offering Airline Credits for Business Tickets Affected by COVID-19 – Submit Your Request by August 30, 2020

American Airlines (AA) and JetBlue are now offering alternative credit options to address business ticket reservations that were canceled/affected due to COVID-19. As part of their initial pandemic support, both airlines offered change waivers for future travel, which were credited to the specific traveler. This, however, could result in a potential loss for departments that booked airline tickets for people that may not need to travel for business in the future.

If you were denied a full refund or received a travel credit from American Airlines and/or JetBlue for a traveler who will not be traveling on behalf of the University within the next year, the Department of Travel Management can assist you with requesting airline credit(s)*. The deadline to submit a request is August 30, 2020.

Submission Instructions:

Please download the airline credit request document(s) (links below), and submit your completed form(s) to the Department of Travel Management at no later than August 30:

  • American Airlines (AA): Click here to download the AA request document.

  • JetBlue: Click here to download the JetBlue request document.

Note: submitted requests must include all information requested by the airline. If you are missing the required information, please contact the airline directly.

If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Travel Management at or (305) 284-2072.

Thank you.

*Exclusions apply, including:

  • If a University of Miami traveler already has a ticket credit under their name and they will be traveling again before ticket credit expiration date.
  • Tickets that were booked for leisure (non-business) purposes.
